Who should apply?
- Students ages 14-16. Students should understand that the school is a learning program. Those students sincerely interested in acquiring knowledge about natural resource conservation should apply.
Is it a school or a camp?
- Conservation School is 7 day, 6 night residential learning program in a camp like setting. This week long “ed-venture” takes place in world’s biggest classroom, the great outdoors.
Hosted for more than 30 years on the grounds of the Northern Lancaster Game and Fish Protective Association, the Conservation School promotes stewardship for natural resources and learning through participation in all aspects of the school.
Will I learn about careers along with conservation?
- Yes, each day’s activities involve experienced instructors and presenters from county and state agencies along with volunteers. The itinerary for the week includes ample illustrations of careers relating to natural resources.

Can I attend the school more than once?
- The curriculum for the program is designed for students to attend one time. Students who wish to return may be asked to join the volunteer staff and serve as counselor in future years. This format also allows many more students to have the opportunity to attend.
